I have an old pc based on Intel Core i3-2100 socket 1155 and ASUS p8p67m motherboard.
My goal was to turn it into a decent working and gaming station with less possible price
That is why I chose Intel Xeon E3-1230v2 and Gigabyte GTX 770 video card. Both of the components where bought at www.computeruniverse.ru.

Gigabyte gtx 770 2gb - https://www.computeruniverse.ru/products/90512089/
GTX 770 is a well known video card which does not require any special comments or reviews, e3-1230v2 on other hand is a server side CPU and not very common for desktop users.
Intel Xeon e3-1230v3 - server cpu
Official link: Intel Xeon e3-1230v2
# of Cores: 4
# of Threads: 8
Clock Speed: 3.3 GHz
Max Turbo Frequency: 3.7 GHz
Actually e3-1230v2 is i7 3770 without integrated video card and lower clock speed that is why I assumed that it should work in my motherboard. I was right, cpu works perfect in the motherboard, but required BIOS update.
After installing the cpu and making sure that everything works fine I pushed it up to its limits.
Intel Xeon e3-1230v2 @ 3.3 ghz - Cinebench R15
Intel Xeon e3-1230v2 @ 3.8 ghz - Cinebench R15
Intel Xeon e3-1230v2 @ 3.8 ghz gives out 633cb in turbo mode, compare to 760cb of mine e3-1230v3 @ 3.7 ghz is not impressive, but it is double of my old i3-2100 and plenty for happy gaming and regular programmer's work.
If you have some more money I would definitely suggest you get new motherboard with newer 1150 socket and e3-1230v3 cpu, but if you are on budget e3-1230v2 is good choice too.
